Duarte Municipal Code Ch. 6.04 Public Health Code

The City of Duarte hereby adopts by reference, that certain public health code known and designated as the "Public Health Code of the County of Los Angeles," County Ordinance No. 7583, as amended through and including Ordinance No. 25-01, adopted March 25, 2025. Such code shall be and become the public health code of the city, regulating matters concerning the public health within the city.

Three copies of such county public health code have been deposited in the office of the city clerk, and shall be, at all times, maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

The following rules shall govern the interpretation of the public health code:

(a) All references to "county" or to the "county of Los Angeles" shall be deemed to refer to the city of Duarte.

(b) All references to the county health officer shall be deemed to refer to that individual in his capacity as health officer of the city of Duarte.

(c) Whenever there is a conflict between any of the provisions of said public health code and any other ordinances of this city heretofore or hereafter adopted relating specifically to same subject matter, then the latter shall prevail.

(d) Whenever any filing is required to be made with the county health officer by such ordinance, such filing is to be made in the first instance with the city clerk, who shall transmit such filing to the county health officer as required for processing.
