2.08.010 - Compensation of officers-How determined.¶
The salaries, wages and/or compensation of all appointive officers of the city shall be fixed and determined by a resolution duly passed and adopted and of all other employees by motion duly passed by the city council at a regular meeting of the city council.

2.08.020 - Compensation of city clerk.¶
The city clerk's compensation shall be set by resolution.

2.08.025 - Compensation for deputy city clerks.¶
City clerk may appoint deputy city clerks to carry out the functions of the office of the city clerk. City will compensate one individual for each of the following deputy city clerk positions and all other deputy city clerks shall serve without compensation.

2.08.030 - When clerk salary payable.¶
The salary provided in Section 2.08.020 shall become payable on and after the election of said clerk to a new term of office therefor and after his/her qualification as such officer.

2.08.040 - Official bonds—City clerk and finance director.¶
The following officers of the city shall execute and file with the city bonds for the faithful performance of the duties of the respective offices in the penal sum set opposite their names. Such bonds shall be executed by a surety company duly authorized to do business within the State of California. The surety bond for the city clerk shall also include and encompass activities by any deputy city clerk appointed by the city clerk.

2.08.050 - Bonds for other city employees.¶
All other employees of the city whose duties call upon them to handle public moneys, or other moneys belonging to the city shall be bonded under a blanket bond to be issued by a surety company duly authorized to transact a surety business in the State of California in the penal sum of ten thousand dollars. The employees to be so bonded shall include, but not be limited to, the manager of the water department and all his deputies or assistants, the city manager, the chief of police and all employees of the police department whose duties require them to accept money for and on behalf of the city, the building inspector and his assistants, and all department heads of the city whose duties require them at any time to handle public moneys or other moneys belonging to the city.

2.08.060 - Form of bonds.¶
All of the foregoing bonds in Sections 2.08.040 and 2.08.050 shall be in the manner and form as provided in Sections 36518 and 36521, inclusive of the Government Code of the State of California, and the premiums thereof shall be paid by this city.

2.08.070 - Director of finance bond.¶
The director of finance shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, execute a bond to the city conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duties in the amount of fifty thousand dollars.
