12-11 STREET ADDRESS CURB PAINTING REQUIREMENTS.

12-11.1 Purpose and Intent. ¶
The purpose of this section is to establish uniform standards and requirements for the painting of street addresses on curbs within the Town of Danville. Maintaining uniform street addresses assists police and fire personnel in responding to calls for service. (Ord. #04-01 §2 (part))
12-11.2 Permits Required. ¶
Any person or entity (other than a property owner painting the street address for their own property) seeking to place or maintain any number, figure, letter or other marking on any street, sidewalk or curb shall first obtain:
a. The express authorization of the property owner;
b. An encroachment permit from the Town of Danville pursuant to Section 12-2 of this Code; and
c. A Town Business License, if required pursuant to Section 3-6 of this Code.

12-11.3 Curb Painting Requirements. ¶
a. It is unlawful for any person or entity to paint, mark or otherwise inscribe any sign identifying the address of the property on any portion of the right-of-way, except on a portion of the curb abutting the property.
b. Curb markings, other than for the purposes of identifying street addresses, are not permitted.
c. All addresses painted on curbs shall meet the following standards:
The address numbers shall be black in color on a white background;
The character size shall be a minimum of five (5) inches in height. The white background shall be a maximum of six (6) inches in height and eighteen (18) inches in width.
d. Temporary markings to identify survey or construction locations shall not be subject to this section.

12-11.4 Termination of Permit. ¶
Any encroachment permit issued pursuant to this section may be revoked or terminated by the Town for violation of any of the provisions of this section.
