Article 4 — Stop and Yield Right-of-Way Intersections

Sec. 11-4A. - Signs to be erected.

(1)

Whenever any ordinance or resolution of this city designates and describes any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the chief of police shall erect and maintain stop signs, as follows:

A stop sign shall be erected at those entrances of intersections where a stop is required.

(2)

Whenever any ordinance or resolution of this city designates and describes any intersection at which vehicles are required to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles which have entered the intersection from any intersecting street or which are approaching so closely on the intersecting street as to constitute an immediate hazard, the chief of police shall erect and maintain yield right-of-way signs at or near the entrance to the intersection where motorists are required to yield the right-of-way.

Sec. 11-4B. - Stop when emerging from alley or driveway.

The driver of a vehicle emerging from an alley, driveway or building shall stop such vehicle immediately prior to driving onto a sidewalk or into the sidewalk area extending across any alley way.
