Article 12 — Golf Carts

Sec. 11-12A. - Definition.¶
For purposes of this article a "golf cart" shall mean any vehicle as defined in Section 345 of the Vehicle Code.

Sec. 11-12B. - Finding of council.¶
Vehicle Code Section 21115 restricts the operation of golf carts to certain city streets which are adjacent to a golf course; the council finds and determines that Country Club Drive and certain streets as hereafter named which are adjacent thereto are the only streets for which golf cart operation is permissible.

Sec. 11-12C. - Golf cart operation permitted only on designated routes.¶
(a)
It shall be unlawful to operate a golf cart on any public street within the incorporated limits of the city except on Country Club Drive between its terminus at State Highway 20 (Colusa Highway) and the following:
Aspen Court;
Brentwood Drive;
Forestwood Drive;
Woodhaven Drive;
Oaktree Lane;
Ross Court.
(b)
Golf cart operation is permitted only on said streets as set forth in subsection (a)(1) through (6) and then solely for the purpose of going to and from the place where the golf cart is being parked or stored and the golf course.
(c)
The operator of any golf cart shall use the entrance and exit to the golf course which is nearest to the place where the golf cart is parked or stored.
(d)
It shall be unlawful for any such golf cart to enter upon State Highway 20 or any street not identified in this section.
(e)
No golf cart shall be operated during darkness unless it is equipped as provided in Vehicle Code Section 24001.5.
The city police chief shall post appropriate signs along the designated golf cart route.
