2.08.010 - Compensation of the city clerk and city treasurer established.

The compensation of the city clerk and the city treasurer is fixed as follows:

City clerk (per month plus health benefits in the same amount as paid to management employees and council members) $700.00
City treasurer (per month plus health benefits in the same amount as paid to management employees and council members) $700.00

2.08.020 - Clerk's, treasurer's salaries additional to expenses.

The salaries prescribed for the city clerk and treasurer shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to the city clerk or city treasurer as reimbursements for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him or her in the performance of official duties for the city.

2.08.030 - When clerk's and treasurer's salaries paid.

The salaries of the city clerk and treasurer shall be paid on the first day of each month following the rendition of the services of such officials to the city.

2.08.050 - Filing fee for candidates for elective office.

A. A filing fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) is established for candidate's nomination papers for elective offices at municipal elections held in the city.

B. The filing fee shall be paid to the city clerk by each candidate for an elective office at the time the candidate's nomination paper is filed with the city clerk.

C. The city clerk shall pay to the city treasurer all fees received which shall be deposited in the general fund.

2.08.060 - Political sign regulations.

Applicants who wish to post temporary political signs shall comply with the following requirements:

A. Each temporary political sign shall not exceed thirty-two (32) square feet in area;

B. The aggregate area of signs on a single parcel shall not exceed eighty (80) square feet;

C. Temporary political signs shall not be nailed to trees, nor affixed upon any public property or public utility poles and shall not be located in any public right-of-way;

D. All temporary political signs shall be removed within ten (10) days after the applicable election date. The applicant shall be personally responsible for the removal of the political signs; and

E. No fee or permit shall be required for the right to erect political signs but the applicant or his or her agent shall file with the city community development department a map or sketch or otherwise adequately locate where the signs will be erected. The applicant shall state that he or she has obtained the consent of private property owners for the placement of temporary political signs on their property.

2.08.070 - City treasurer—Duties.

A. The city treasurer shall perform the following duties on behalf of the city:

  1. Those duties specified by statute including, but not limited to, those enumerated in Government Code Sections 41001 through 41005, 43623, 43880, 43884 and 53828.

  2. Those duties pertaining to the investment of city funds pursuant to Articles 1 and 2 of Chapter 4 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code (commencing with Section 53600).

  3. Such other duties as may be delegated to the city treasurer by resolution of the city council, but only as permitted by state law.

B. The city treasurer shall have the powers conferred by statute, by this section, or by any resolution of the city council, and those powers necessary and reasonable to perform the duties of the office of city treasurer as defined in this section.
