2.20.010 - Appointment.¶
The chief of police of the city is empowered to appoint qualified persons to serve as reserve police officers of the Clayton police department.

2.20.020 - Qualifications.¶
A reserve police officer shall have the following qualifications:
A. Twenty-one (21) years of age or over;
B. Such physical, mental and educational requirements as shall be prescribed by the chief of police by appropriate rule or regulation.

2.20.030 - Duties—Tenure.¶
A. Reserve police officers shall be under the jurisdiction, authority and supervision of the chief of police and shall have such duties as are assigned to them by the chief of police.
B. Reserve police officers shall serve at the pleasure of the chief of police.

2.20.040 - Compensation.¶
Reserve police officers are volunteers and shall serve without compensation. Nothing herein contained, however, shall be deemed to prevent the city council of Clayton, by resolution or ordinance, from providing for workmen's compensation insurance for reserve police officers. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to regulate the compensation of any officer employed to serve as a substitute for any regularly employed police officer of the city.

2.20.050 - Rules and Regulations.¶
The chief of police may adopt written rules and regulations governing the qualifications, training, duties, uniform and discipline of the reserve police officers consistent with the provisions of this chapter.
