10.40.010 - Gross weight limits—Restricted streets.¶
All streets other than those designated hereinafter as unrestricted streets are found by the city council to be so constructed as to constitute the same restricted streets necessitating imposition of gross weight limits in respect to the use of the streets subject to the exceptions set forth in Section 10.40.020. No provision of this chapter however in respect to the gross weight limits shall be applicable unless and until appropriate signs are erected and maintained indicating those streets which are so unrestricted.
(Prior code § 3268).
10.40.020 - Unrestricted streets or truck routes.¶
The city council finds that the designation of the following streets as unrestricted streets or through passage truck routes will adequately protect the public health, safety and welfare and will reasonably provide through truck passage for vehicles in excess of six thousand pounds through the city. The city council does therefore designate the following streets as unrestricted or truck routes within the city, as follows:
(1) Bascom Avenue;
(2) Camden Avenue;
(3) Campbell Avenue from westerly city limit to Bascom Avenue;
(4) Curtner Avenue;
(5) Central Avenue (East Central and South Central only);
(6) Dell Avenue;
(7) Dillon Avenue;
(8) Division Street;
(9) Foote Avenue;
(10) Gilman Avenue;
(11) Harrison Avenue: Campbell Avenue to Salmar Avenue only;
(12) Industrial Street;
(13) Kennedy Avenue;
(14) McGlincey Lane;
(15) Railway Avenue;
(16) Rodeck Way;

(19) Winchester Boulevard;
(20) Union Avenue;
(21) Hamilton Avenue;
(22) San Tomas Expressway;
(23) Pollard Road;
(24) Leigh Avenue;

The city council may, by resolution, add other unrestricted streets or delete certain streets when it finds that public safety and the convenience of the public will be better enhanced.
