9.34.010 - Purpose.¶
The purpose of this chapter is to protect the people of the city from the health hazards presented by broken bottles. There have been incidents where bottles have been thrown at police officers and other individuals present in city parks. Moreover, bottles have been deliberately broken on the grass areas or thrown against park structures. Also, large piles of bottles, including some which had been broken have been observed in park and surrounding areas. Because of the resulting detriment and danger to public health and safety, the public interest, convenience and necessity requires the regulation thereof.
