5.48.010 - Permit—Required.

No person, firm, or corporation shall demolish any building or structure within the city without first obtaining a permit therefor from the building official.

5.48.020 - Permit—Application.

A. To obtain a permit, the applicant shall first file an application therefor in writing on a form published for that purpose.

B. Every such application shall:

  1. Identify and describe the location and structure to be demolished;

  2. Submit plans and methods of demolition, including a schedule for demolition and date of completion of the project.

5.48.030 - Permit—Issuance conditions—Protective devices.

The building official may require the applicant to furnish such devices, structures or other equipment as may be reasonably necessary to safeguard the public as a condition for the issuance of the permit required by Section 5.48.010.

5.48.040 - Permit—Issuance conditions—Security.

The building official may require a personal or surety bond in an amount sufficient to secure compliance with any conditions, requirements or completion dates contained in the permit. The building official may also require proof of public liability insurance.

5.48.050 - Permit—Waiver of requirements.

The building official may waive the demolition permit requirement in such cases where the work involved is of a value of less than one hundred dollars, and the structure is less than one hundred square feet in dimension, or if the demolition work is of a minor insignificant nature with no hazard to the public.
