3.40.010 - Authority.

This chapter is adopted pursuant to Government Code Section 25537. The procedures established by this chapter are supplemental to procedures established by state law for the leasing of county-owned property. Failure to follow the procedures set forth in this chapter shall not invalidate any lease which otherwise has been entered in compliance with law.

3.40.020 - Call for bids.

Prior to leasing county-owned real property, the board of supervisors shall post a call for bids in at least three public places for not less than fifteen days and cause to be published a call for bids for not less than two weeks in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county.

3.40.030 - Bid opening.

At the time and place for bid opening, the board shall examine each bid and may accept the highest and best proposal or reject all bids.

3.40.040 - Oral bids.

After all written bids have been opened, the board of supervisors may accept oral bids.

3.40.050 - Leases excluded.

The board of supervisors may exclude a lease from the bidding procedure if it is not renewable and if its term of years and monthly rent do not exceed the maximum duration and dollar limits authorized for exclusion under Government Code Section 25537(b).
