Sec. 21B.1. - Screening requirements.¶
Water heaters, washers and dryers which are located outside buildings in residential zones shall be screened to prevent their observation from any public street. Site obscuring fences or masonry walls at least six feet in height installed on property lines or setback lines shall satisfy the requirements of this section. Where fences or walls are not used, the screening material, size and location shall be approved by the building inspector during the building plan review process. This section shall apply to all new construction and to additions to existing houses involving placement of a water heater, washer or dryer outside the house. This section shall also apply when a water heater, washer or dryer installation is changed from inside a building to an outside location for existing houses.
