Article XI — School Zones — Brawley Municipal Code

Sec. 17.129. - School zone established adjacent to Sacred Heart School.¶

The school zone shall do the following:

Signage will be put up by city on Imperial Avenue and J Street depicting a school zone and a fifteen mph zone.

Bot dots will be installed to make drivers aware of a school area.

School crossings will be painted on Imperial Avenue and J Street by city (by bot dots).

City shall paint or repaint crosswalks at intersections of I/Imperial and J/Imperial as needed.

Sec. 17.129A. - School bus loading/unloading zone.¶

(a)

A school bus loading/unloading zone is hereby established at the following location:

Beginning at the northeastern end of curb return at the intersection of North Imperial Avenue and Flammang Avenue, thence north nine hundred ten feet to the beginning of the school bus loading/unloading zone; thence north for a total of sixty feet to the end of the school bus loading/unloading zone.

(b)

The director of public works is instructed and authorized forthwith to indicate such school bus loading/unloading zone by curb markings and signs.

(c)

A violation hereof shall constitute an infraction and shall be punishable as provided in the Vehicle Code as the same now provides or as amending from time to time.
