Sec. 17.18.010. - Adoption of the wildland-urban interface code.¶
(a) The 2025 Wildland-Urban Interface Code ("WUIC"), Title 24, Part 7 of the California Code of Regulations, is hereby adopted by reference and shall constitute and may be cited as the wildland-urban interface code of the City.
(b) In the event of any conflict between provisions of the 2025 Wildland-Urban Interface Code and Title XVII of the Bradbury Municipal Code, the most restrictive requirements shall prevail.
(c) Copies of the 2025 Wildland-Urban Interface Code are available online for use and examination by the public.

Sec. 17.18.020 - Scope and application.¶
Section 501.1 of the California Wildland-Urban Interface Code is hereby modified to read as follows:
501.1 Scope and Application.
New Buildings and structures in a wildland-urban interface area shall be constructed in accordance with the California Building Code and this Code. Additions, alterations, or repairs made to existing buildings erected, constructed, or moved within a Fire Hazard Severity Zone or Wildland-Urban Interface area shall be constructed in accordance with the Building Code and this Code. New buildings for which an application for a building permit is submitted on or after January 1, 2026, and any additions, alterations, or repairs made to existing buildings for which an application for a building permit is submitted on or after January 1, 2026, located in any Fire Hazard Severity Zone or Wildland-Urban Interface area shall comply with all sections of the Building Code and this Code.
