8.12.010 - License requirements.

A. No person, firm or corporation shall operate or maintain any loading area for the handling of melons, fruits or vegetables without having first obtained from the city clerk a license.

B. All such licenses shall be prepared and issued by the city clerk upon the payment of the sum of one dollar for the period from January 1st to and including December 31st of any one year.

C. Each license so issued shall state, upon the face thereof, the name of the person to whom the license is issued, the location and extent of the loading area, the license fee and the date of expiration of such license.

8.12.020 - Containers for refuse—Required.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, either as owner, agent, lessee or in any other capacity, operating or maintaining any loading area for the loading of melons, fruits or vegetables, to allow or permit refuse parts of melons, fruits or vegetables to accumulate in or upon any loading area and adjacent streets within the corporate limits of the city, other than in covered metal containers.

8.12.030 - Loading area to be kept clean and clear of refuse.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation affected by this chapter to fail to maintain any such loading area and adjacent streets free from exposed broken parts of melons, fruits, or vegetables. Such loading areas shall be kept clean at all times.

8.12.040 - Containers for refuse—Emptying requirements.

The metal containers required by Section 8.12.020 shall be emptied of all refuse at least once each day by the operators or maintainers of loading areas, and all such refuse shall be deposited at such place or places as directed by a duly authorized agent of the health department of the county of Riverside.

8.12.050 - Penalty for violation.

Any person, firm or corporation convicted of violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, or by imprisonment of not more than three months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
