8.08.010 - Certificate required.

No license shall be issued under the terms of this chapter to any person, firm, corporation or partnership conducting or carrying on any business where food or drink for human consumption is handled, prepared for sale or sold, either from a fixed place of business or from a truck or other vehicle, until said place of business, truck or vehicle has been first inspected by the health officer of the city, and a certificate has been issued to the effect that said premises, truck or vehicle is sanitary or suitable for such purposes. No charge shall be made for such inspection or certificate.

8.08.020 - Inspection—Correction order.

It shall be the duty of the health officer to inspect from time to time the places of business, trucks or vehicles regulated by Section 8.08.010; and, if it is found at any time that any of such places of business, trucks or vehicles are unsanitary or unsuitable for the purpose of handling, preparing or selling food for human consumption, he shall issue an order to the person conducting or carrying on the business in such place, truck or vehicle, specifying the unsanitary condition and requiring him to correct the same within a given time from the service of such order. If the unsanitary condition is not corrected within said period of time, the certificate of the health officer and any business license issued under the terms of this chapter shall be revoked.
