§ 2.48.010. Created.

A historical commission for the city is created.

§ 2.48.020. Membership—Meetings.

The historical commission of this city shall consist of a total of nine members. The commission shall hold quarterly meetings at a time and address set by the commission.

§ 2.48.030. Term of members.

Each member of the historical commission shall, except as otherwise provided, serve for a four-year term.

§ 2.48.040. Duties.

The historical commission shall perform the following duties:

A. To recommend to the city council steps to encourage public understanding of and interest in the architectural and environmental heritage of the city through educational and interpretive programs;

B. To encourage the protection, retention and use of any designated or potential historic buildings and/or historic districts, buildings or structures.
