4-48.1 - Visiting Barred or Barricaded Houses Containing Gambling Devices.

It shall be unlawful for any person within the limits of the City to visit or resort to any barred or barricaded house or room, or any other place built or protected in a manner to make it difficult of access or ingress to Police Officers, where any playing cards, dice, dominoes, fan-tan tables, or layout, or any part of such layout, or any gambling implements whatsoever are exhibited or exposed to view when three (3) or more persons are present.

4-48.2 - Exhibiting Gambling Devices Prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person within the limits of the City to exhibit or expose to view in any barred or barricaded house or room, or in any place built or protected in a manner to make it difficult of access or ingress to Police Officers, when three (3) or more persons are present, any cards, dice, dominoes, fan-tan table or layout, or any part of any such layout, or any gambling implements whatsoever.

4-48.3 - Playing Dice.

Every person who plays or bets at any game played with dice for money is guilty of a misdemeanor.

4-48.4 - Slot Machines and Other Mechanical Gambling Devices.

It shall be unlawful for any person either as owner, lessee, agent, employee or otherwise, to operate, keep, maintain, rent, use or conduct, within the City any clock, tape, slot or card machine, or any other machine, contrivance, appliance or mechanical device, upon the result of action of which money or other valuable thing is staked or hazarded and which is operated or played by placing or depositing therein any coins, checks, slugs, ball, or any other article or device, or in any other manner, and by means whereof, or as the result of the operation of which any merchandise, money, representative, or articles of value, checks or tokens, redeemable in, or exchangeable for, money or any other thing of value, is won or lost or taken from, or obtained from, such machine, when the result of action or operation of such machine, contrivance, appliance or mechanical device, is dependent upon hazard or chance.

4-48.5 - Conducting or Participating in Gambling Games.

It shall be unlawful for any person in the City to deal, play or carry on, open or cause to be opened, or to conduct or participate in, either as owner or employee or otherwise, whether for hire or not, any game played with cards, dice or any device, for money, checks, credits or any other representative of value; providing that the conducting of, or participating in, whist or bridge tournaments for merchandise or merchandise orders, where there are at least twelve (12) adult persons present, shall not be deemed a violation of this subsection.
