4-33.1 - Definitions.

As used in this section:

Firing range shall mean any place where firearms are discharged for any reason unrelated to lawful hunting, military, police, gunsmithing or manufacturing purposes.

Firing point shall mean any place within a firing range where a firearm may be discharged purposefully or accidentally.

Safety confinement system shall mean a totally enclosed system of walls, baffles, ceilings, backstops or other devices constructed of materials suitable to retain therein without ricochet any and all calibers of bullets which may be fired from within the system.

4-33.2 - Safety Requirements.

All firing ranges shall be designed and constructed so that all firing points are within a safety confinement system.

4-33.3 - Construction Approval.

The design of a firing range shall be approved by the Public Works Director who may issue guidelines for conformance with Subsection 4-5.2.

4-33.4 - Noise Requirements.

Noise levels at the property line of a firing range shall not exceed seventy (70) dB from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and sixty-five (65) dB at all other times.
