15.16.010 - Purpose.

In order to establish an orderly and uniform system of numbering for houses, business establishments and other buildings and places in the city, and to facilitate the location of the same and the persons, firms or corporations occupying them, this council determines that an assignment of numbers for such house, business establishments, and other buildings and places shall be made by the city clerk in accordance with this chapter.

15.16.020 - Numbering system.

All numbering shall commence from the intersection of Naranjo and Valencia Boulevards.

A. One hundred numbers shall be assigned to each block.

B. Even numbers shall be on the east and north sides of the streets, and the odd numbers on the south and west sides of the streets.

C. The first block on each street running north and south and north of Naranjo Boulevard shall bear numbers from 100 to 199 north, and the first block on each street running north and south and south of Naranjo Boulevard shall bear numbers from 100 to 199 south.

D. The second blocks will bear numbers from 200 to 299, and the remaining blocks similarly numbered with the two right hand digits representing the order in the block and the remainder of the digits on the left representing the numerical order of the block from Naranjo Boulevard.

E. The first block on each street running east and west and west of Valencia Boulevard shall bear numbers from 100 to 199 west, and the first block on each street running east and west and east of Valencia Boulevard shall bear numbers from 100 to 199 east.

F. The second blocks will bear numbers from 200 to 299, and the remaining blocks similarly numbered with the two right hand digits representing the order in the block and remainder of the digits on the left representing the numerical order of the block from Valencia Boulevard.

G. Rear buildings shall be numbered the same as the front buildings with the addition of a letter, or letters, in alphabetical order.

15.16.030 - Display of numbers.

Every owner and/or occupant of property in the city shall display in a conspicuous place, near the entrance to the building, the number assigned to it by the city clerk.

15.16.040 - Violation—Penalty.

A violation of this chapter is not punishable as an infraction or misdemeanor, a violation of this chapter is punishable only by an administrative fine. Any person who violates any provisions of any ordinance enacted by the city, as amended from time to time, or any person who owns property upon which a violation exists, irrespective of whether that person caused the violation, shall be subject to an administrative fine or penalty up to the maximum amounts set forth by Woodlake Municipal Code Chapter 1.12.070.

Persons cited for violating this chapter may request an administrative appeal hearing as permitted by Woodlake Municipal Code Chapter 1.12.110.
