2.20.010 - Amount.

Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, each of the following named officials shall execute a bond in accordance with Government Code Sections 36518 through 36521. The penal sum of each bond shall be as follows:

City clerk, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars;

City treasurer, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars;

Deputy city clerk, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars;

Chief of police, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars;

City administrator, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars; and

City finance officer, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars.

The city council shall approve all bonds. When approved, the clerk's bond shall be filed with the mayor, and other bonds shall be filed with the city clerk.

The penal amount of each bond may be changed in the amount set forth in a resolution adopted by the city council from time to time.

2.20.020 - Filing required.

All bonds when approved shall be filed with the city clerk, except the bond of the clerk, which shall be filed with the mayor.

2.20.030 - Premiums—State provisions applicable.

Premiums upon officers' bonds, if executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the state of California, shall be paid by the city out of its general fund. All bonds shall be approved by the city council. All the provisions of any law of this state relating to the official bonds of officers shall apply to any bonds required or authorized in this chapter, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
