Ventura Municipal Code § 2.335.020 Duties and responsibilities

The finance department is hereby established and organized into three functional program areas, all of which are under the direction and administration of the chief financial officer. These three areas are financial planning and analysis, treasury, and purchasing and contracts. (Ord. No. 2022-002, § 9, 3-21-22)

Under the direction of the chief financial officer, the department is responsible for the accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, internal auditing, treasury and debt management, revenue collection, revenue monitoring and analysis, and purchasing and contracts functions of city government.
