2.320.010 Appointment.

The city attorney is the city officer appointed by the city council to act as the legal advisor of the city council, all city commissions, boards and committees, and all city officials and departments. (Ord. No. 2003-003, § 1, 4-28-03)

2.320.020 Duties and responsibilities.

The city attorney is responsible for drafting all ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other legal documents required by the city council or city manager, approving as to form all contracts to which the city is a party as well as all bonds given to or provided for the benefit of the city, prosecuting violations of the City Charter or this code, and representing and/or providing for the representation of the city in civil litigation to which it is a party.
