3 Editor’s note(s): Ord. No. 2003-003, § 1, adopted April 28, 2003, repealed the former Chapter 2.315 and enacted a new chapter as set out herein. The former Chapter 2.315, Sections 2.315.010 through 2.315.060, pertained to city officers and derived from Code 1971, Sections 1221 through 1226.

2.315.010 Appointment.

The city manager is the city officer appointed by the city council to act as the administrative head of city government. (Ord. No. 2003-003, § 1, 4-28-03)

2.315.020 Duties and responsibilities.

As delineated in the City Charter, the city manager is responsible for directing and supervising the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the city, and is responsible for the general overall administration of city government. In addition, the city manager or assistant city manager shall administer and oversee the city’s economic development and tourism programs. (Ord. No. 2003-003, § 1, 4-28-03; Ord. 2.315.030 Administrative policies and procedures.

Except as otherwise provided in the Charter or this code, the city manager is authorized to issue administrative policies and procedures for the operation and administration of city government and its offices, departments, and agencies. (Ord. No. 2003-003, § 1, 4-28-03)
