Chapter 12.06 — ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS CODE

Except as hereinafter otherwise provided, that certain code for the abatement of dangerous buildings, 1997 Edition, one copy of which is on file in the office of the city clerk, for use and examination by the public and which said code for the abatement of dangerous buildings, is known and designated as the "Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition," prepared and published by the International Conference of Building Officials, be and the same is adopted and made a part of this chapter as if fully set out in this chapter, except as hereinafter modified by the amendments, additions and deletions thereto, and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, shall be the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings of the city, establishing minimum standards governing the conditions essential to make buildings safe, establishing minimum standards governing the condition of buildings safe; establishing minimum standards governing the condition of buildings; fixing certain responsibilities and duties of owners and occupants of buildings; authorizing the inspection of buildings

and the condemnation of buildings unsafe or hazardous within the city, and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings shall be known and may be cited as the "Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings".

12.06.020 - Meaning of terms.

Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code or in this chapter, each such name or term has the following meaning:

A.

"City of _______" or "City" means the city of Vallejo.

B.

"County of _______" means the county of Solano, state of California.

C.

"State of _______" means the state of California.

D.

"City council" means the city council of Vallejo.

Sections 203.1 and 203.2 of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings shall be read as follows:

Sections 203.1 Violations.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code.
