Tehama County Municipal Code Art. IV Overtime

A. Upon the authorization of the board made prior to the time the overtime is worked and the appropriation of funds therefor, an employee directed by his department head to perform services requiring overtime work shall be compensated at his authorized rate of pay.

B. A department head shall not direct an employee to work overtime unless pay for said overtime is authorized or the employee is entitled to receive compensating time off.

C. The board may in the proper case make a finding that the failure to request overtime authorization was due to excusable neglect and authorize overtime payment without prior board authorization.
