Sec. 2-32.1.01. - Authority.

The Sheriff is hereby authorized to establish work projects for the purpose of working prisoners confined in the County Jail.

Sec. 2-32.1.02. - Supervision.

The Sheriff may turn over prisoners in the County Jail to a duly appointed Deputy Sheriff or correctional officer who shall supervise work done by the prisoners on public County work. The Deputy Sheriff or correctional officer shall return all the prisoners to the Siskiyou County Jail.

Sec. 2-32.1.03. - Place of work.

The Sheriff may move prisoners from work project to work project as his administrative needs may require and keep them in County Jails when so moved.

Sec. 2-32.1.04. - Return of prisoners.

The Sheriff is hereby authorized to transfer and keep prisoners who are confined in the County Jail under a final judgment of imprisonment rendered in a criminal action or proceeding to any County Jail when ordered to do so by court or when in his discretion he deems said transfer advisable.

Sec. 2-32.1.05. - Transportation costs.

All transportation to and from places of detention and points of public work shall be furnished and paid for by the County.

Sec. 2-32.1.06. - Payment of prisoners for public work.

Any prisoner placed at work may be paid the sum of Two and no/100ths ($2.00) Dollars per day per person for each day he/she is required to work on public works.
