1-14-1: PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS:¶
Any person having a claim against the City, except for a salary fixed by ordinance, must present a detailed statement of the claim, verified by his oath before the Clerk, or other officer authorized to administer oaths, which statement must be filed with the Clerk at least twenty four (24) hours before the meeting of the Council at which the claim is to be heard.
1-14-2: CONSIDERATION OF CLAIMS BY COUNCIL:¶
Claims against the City shall be considered and allowed only at the first regular meeting in every month.
No demand or claim against the City shall be paid until after it has been presented to and audited by the Council. (Ord. 10, 4-28-93)
1-14-3: PAYMENTS TO BE BY WARRANT:¶
All demands when audited and allowed, and all salaries shall be paid by a warrant on the City Treasury and shall be signed by any two (2) of the following officers: City Treasurer, City Clerk, Mayor, City Administrator. (Ord. 837, 3-1-82)
1-14-4: AFFIDAVIT VERIFYING CLAIM REQUIRED:¶
No demand against the City shall be paid or allowed unless it be properly itemized, and the claimant affixes thereto an affidavit stating that it is justly due affiant, has not been paid or allowed, nor theretofore rejected, and that the last item in the claim accrued within one year next preceding the presentation thereof; and no money shall be paid by the Treasurer, and no warrant be drawn upon him, except by order of the Council.
