11-1800 - ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS.

For the purposes of enforcing this title, those employees of the Aviation Department with enforcement duties are authorized to issue written notices to appear as provided in Section 853.6 of the California Penal Code, and to issue notices of illegal parking as provided in Section 40202 of the California Vehicle Code.

11-1801 - CARRYING FIREARMS.

The Chief Airport Operations Officer and Airport Operations Deputies may carry firearms while engaged in the performance of their duties. Provided, however, that prior to carrying any firearms, the Chief Airport Operations Officer and all Airport Operations Deputies must first satisfactorily complete a course of training in the carrying and use of firearms which meets the minimum standards prescribed by the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. Not less than once every ninety (90) days, the Chief Airport Operations Officer and all Airport Operations Deputies shall demonstrate their competency in handling firearms. The use and handling of such weapons shall comply in all respects with all applicable rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Supervisors.

11-1802 - PENALTY.

The violation of any provision of this title is a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
