Sec. 9.1. - ADMINISTRATION OF CHAPTER; APPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN TERMS:

A. The provisions of this Chapter shall be administered by the Building Official and authorized representatives. All other officers and employees of the City shall assist and cooperate in the administration of this Chapter.

B. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Building Official" is used, it shall mean the City Building Official or their designee.

C. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Board of Appeals" is used, it shall mean the Board of Building Review.

D. Whenever in any of the codes adopted in this Chapter the term "Health Officer" is used, it shall mean the authorized representative of the San Mateo County Department of Health.

Sec. 9.2. - FILING, DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLICATIONS:

Copies of each publication adopted by reference in this Chapter shall be kept on file in the office of the Building Official and shall be available there for public inspection. Additionally, one (1) copy of each publication adopted by reference in this Chapter shall at all times be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk and, likewise, shall be available there for public inspection.

Sec. 9.3. - VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES:

A. It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the City or cause the same to be done contrary to or in violation of any code provision as adopted by this Chapter or any amendment thereto as adopted by this Chapter.

B. Any person, firm or corporation, whether as principal, agent employee, or otherwise, who shall violate or cause the violation of any of the provisions of the codes or amendments adopted by this Chapter, or fail to comply with any order, license or permit made or issued thereunder, or who shall build or install in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder and from which no appeal has been taken, or who shall fail to comply with such an order, license or permit as affirmed or modified by the Council or by a court of competent jurisdiction within the time fixed therein, shall severally, for each and every such violation and noncompliance thereof, shall be punishable as provided in Section 1.7B of this Code. The imposition of any one (1) penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue. Each and every day a violation shall continue shall be deemed to be a separate violation. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any person, firm or corporation violating Section 903.2.13(e) regarding automatic sprinkler systems shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which such violation exists and shall be punished as set forth in Section 1.7A of the Redwood City Code. The act of violating Section 903.2.13(e) shall include maintaining a property without an automatic sprinkler system as required by Section 903.2.13(e).

C. The Building Official or the authorized representatives of the Building Division shall have the authority to issue citations for violations of the codes or amendments adopted by this Chapter, and all orders, licenses, certificates, permits, plans and specifications issued or approved thereunder.

Sec. 9.4. - PUBLICATION, SALE OF COPIES OF REGULATIONS AUTHORIZED:

The Building Official is hereby authorized to publish portions or all of this Chapter and to sell copies thereof to the general public at a price to be fixed by the City Clerk.
