Sec. 33B.1. - PURPOSE:¶
The purpose of this Article is to regulate the possession and consumption of alcohol within the City for the optimum use and enjoyment of the residents of the City; to establish regulations to promote the safety and comfort of persons who consume alcohol within the City as well as persons residing or owning property in the City.

Sec. 33B.2. - DEFINITIONS:¶
For purposes of this Article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this Section:
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE: Shall have the meaning ascribed thereto in the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, as the same may from time to time be amended.

Sec. 33B.3. - POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINERS OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PROHIBITED EXCEPT…¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to have in his or her possession any bottle, can or other receptacle containing any alcoholic beverage which has been opened, or a seal broken, or the contents of which have been partially removed, in any public place, except in the following permitted situations:
A. Special activities subject to an encroachment permit pursuant to Sections 33A.3 and 33A.41 of this Code;
B. Outdoor business activity including in parklets and sidewalk cafes authorized pursuant to Section 29.3 Chapter 29 of this Code or pursuant to a conditional use permit pursuant to the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance.

Sec. 33B.4. - ENFORCEMENT—FINES AND PENALTY:¶
Violation of any of the provisions of this Article shall be deemed an infraction, which upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as specified in Section 1.7B of this Code.
