§ 3-7.2301. Definitions.

For the purpose of this article the words set out in this section shall have the following meanings:

"Mobile vendor"

shall mean any vehicle as defined in Section 670 of the California Vehicle Code, which is equipped and used for retail sales of prepared, prepackaged, or unprepared, unpackaged food or foodstuffs of any kind on any public street, alley, highway, or private street, alley or property within the City.

"School"

shall mean any public school in the Redondo Beach Unified School District or private school within the City. Private school means a privately owned school offering instruction in the several branches of learning and study required to be taught in the public schools by the Education Code of the State of California, providing for the education of children in kindergarten or grades 1 through 12 inclusive.

§ 3-7.2302. Mobile vending near schools.

Mobile vendors shall not operate within 500 feet of a school except on school grounds with prior authorization by the school administrator.
