§ 3-8.01. Permits required to discharge guns.

It is unlawful for any person to shoot or discharge any gun, pistol, firearm, air gun, or spring gun within the City, except in a regularly licensed shooting gallery, without first having obtained a permit in writing from the Chief of Police to do so.

§ 3-8.02. Shooting galleries.

(a) Caliber of guns. It is unlawful for any person to shoot or discharge any gun, pistol, or other firearm of a larger caliber than 22 or use ammunition larger than a 22 short cartridge in any shooting gallery in the City.

(b) Responsibility of owners. It is unlawful for the proprietor, owner, or person in charge of any shooting gallery to permit any person therein to fire or discharge or use any firearm, rifle, or pistol which uses a larger cartridge than a 22 short cartridge.

(c) Violations: Penalties. The proprietor, owner, or person in charge of any shooting gallery who permits the violation of any provision of this section may be punished, in addition to the penalties provided by this Code, by the revocation by the Council of the license to operate such shooting gallery.
