2.73.010 - Economic development corporation of Shasta County.¶
The economic development corporation of Shasta County is an organization formed to promote economic growth in the area, and its formation was approved by City Council Resolution No. 3311. The bylaws of the economic development corporation provide that the city is a permanent member of the corporation and its term of membership is perpetual. The city is entitled to have three directors represent it on the board of said corporation, who shall be either residents, employed within the city, or business owners within the city. Said directors shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval of a majority of the members of the city council, for a term of office of four years, not to exceed two consecutive terms.

2.73.020 - Community development advisory committee.¶
The community development advisory committee is established for the purpose of serving in an advisory capacity relative to the community development block grant program. The committee consists of nine persons who shall be either residents of the city, employed within the city limits, or business owners of businesses located within the city. The members of the committee shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval of a majority of the members of the city council, to serve three year terms, with no more than three of the members having terms that expire in the same year. The committee members shall, to the extent possible, represent different geographical areas of the city. The chairman and the vice-chairman of the committee shall be selected annually by a majority of the committee members. Meetings of the committee shall be called as necessary.

2.73.050 - Shasta mosquito and vector control district.¶
Subject to the approval of a majority of the City Council, the Mayor shall appoint one representative to the Board of Directors of the Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District ("District"). Said appointee shall be a registered voter in the City of Redding and a resident within the jurisdictional boundaries of the District. When feasible, the appointee should have experience, training, and education in a field which will assist in the governance of the District. Pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 2024, the term of office for the appointee shall be four years commencing at noon on the first Monday in January.
