Placerville Municipal Code Ch. 10 Clerk

The clerk shall keep an accurate record of the proceedings of the council in books bearing appropriate titles and devoted exclusively to such purposes. The books shall have a comprehensive general index 1 . (1962 Code)

The clerk shall be accounting officer of the city and shall maintain records readily reflecting the financial condition of the city.

At the end of each fiscal year he shall prepare and present to the council a summary statement of receipts and disbursements by departments and funds, including opening and closing fund balances in the treasury.

He shall cause the financial statement to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the city. If there is no newspaper, he shall cause copies of the statement to be posted in three (3) public places in the city designated by the council as the places for posting public notices. The statement shall be printed or posted not later than one hundred twenty (120) days after the close of the fiscal year for which the report is compiled 2 . (1962 Code)

The clerk shall keep a book marked "Ordinances" and record in it all city ordinances with his certificate annexed to each, stating:

(A) It is a true and correct copy of a city ordinance.

(B) The ordinance number.

(C) It has been published or posted pursuant to law 1 . (1962 Code)

The official city records in the custody of the clerk shall not be filed in any court proceedings but shall be returned to the custody of the clerk 2 . (1962 Code)

The clerk shall be the custodian of the city seal 3 . (1962 Code)

The clerk shall perform such additional duties as may be prescribed by the council and the provisions of this code 4 . (1962 Code)

The clerk may administer oaths or affirmations and take and certify affidavits and depositions pertaining to city affairs and business which may be used in any court or proceedings in the state 5 . (1962 Code)
