§ 2.20.010. City seal.¶

§ 2.20.080

§ 2.20.050. Official City name adopted.¶

The official name for the City shall be the "City of Paramount" and constitutes and is adopted as the official name for the City. The name "Paramount The City", or "Paramount City" shall also constitute a secondary official name for the City.

§ 2.20.060. Paramount branding guidelines.¶

In addition to the official City seal, logos and City name identified in Sections 2.20.010 through 2.20.050 all graphical symbols or any variety of graphical symbols included in the official Paramount Branding Guidelines, as adopted by the City Council and amended from time to time, constitute and are hereby adopted as official logos, logotypes, letterhead graphics, and other identifiable markings of the City of Paramount.

§ 2.20.070. Custodian of official City seal, City logos or other identifiable markings.¶

The City Clerk has charge of and is the custodian of the city seal, city name, city logos, and any other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines. (Ord. 1184, 4/9/2024)

§ 2.20.080. Violations.¶

a. The city seal, official name, city logos, or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines are for the exclusive use by the City, and its commissions, officials and employees, in the course and scope of their official duties.
b. No person shall use or allow to be used the City seal, official name, City logos, or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines, or any cut, facsimile, or reproduction of said City seal, official name, City logos, or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines or make or use any design which is an imitation of said City seal, official name, City logos, or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines or of the design thereof, or which may be mistaken for the City seal, official name, City logos, or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines or the design thereof, for malicious or commercial purposes, or for any purpose other than for City purposes or for the purposes of any officer, board or department thereof, without the express prior written consent of the City Council, or the City Manager in those specific requests from City partner organizations or local service professional organizations for uses that are essential to the operations of the City, or as otherwise authorized under City policy.
c. No person, including any elected officer of the City, may use the City seal, official name, City logos, or other City identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines, or in any correspondence or other printed materials distributed in favor of or against any ballot measure or in favor of or against any candidate for public office.
d. The City Council may authorize the use or reproduction thereof of the official City seal, City logos, official name or other identifiable markings included in the Paramount Branding Guidelines for commercial purposes or for any other use.
e. A violation of any provision of this chapter or a failure to comply with any mandatory

requirements of this chapter is subject to prosecution as a misdemeanor under this Code and may be enforced through criminal, civil, administrative, injunctive or other relief available by law or in equity. Criminal penalties for violations of the provisions of this chapter may result in up to a misdemeanor citation for each day in violation, punishable by a maximum of one-year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
