12.24.010 - Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to regulate skateboarding activities at any skateboard park or facility owned or operated by the town.

12.24.020 - General.

It is unlawful for any person to use a town-owned or operated skateboard park or facility in violation of the provisions of this chapter.

12.24.030 - Rules and regulations.

A. "Skateboard" means any device with wheels, coasters or any other form of movability with a platform upon which a person rides or stands primarily for recreational purposes, including in-line skates and roller skates.

B. Any person using a skateboard at town-owned or operated skateboard park or facility shall wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads while riding a skateboard.

C. Signs shall be posted at any town-owned or-operated skateboard park or facility requiring any persons riding a skateboard to wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. Such signs shall also state that any person who fails to wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads as required by this chapter shall be subject to being issued a citation pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 11580 and this chapter.

D. No person shall ride a bicycle within skateboarding areas of a town-owned or-operated park.

12.24.040 - Violation.

Any person who violates the provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction punishable by fine pursuant to Government Code Section 36900.
