2.08.010 - City clerk.

The office of city clerk shall be appointive.

2.08.020 - Treasurer.

The office of treasurer shall be appointive.

2.08.030 - Department heads.

The following positions shall be designed as department heads:

  1. Chief of police;

  2. Fire chief;

  3. Director of public works;

  4. Recreation director;

  5. City librarian;

  6. Director of community development or city planner;

  7. City engineer.

  8. Administrative services manager.

Department head positions may be filled by employees or contractors. Department head positions may be funded or unfunded and vacant at any time. When vacant, the city manager may assume the title and function.

2.08.040 - City attorney.

The city attorney shall be appointed by the city council and shall serve at the pleasure of the city council. The terms of appointment, including compensation, shall be determined by contract.

2.08.050 - Reserved.

2.08.060 - Contracts of employment.

A. Contracts of employment shall be utilized for department heads, city officials and contract consultants not otherwise covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

B. Appointment pursuant to such contracts of employment shall be subject to city council approval.
