Sec. 2-7-21. - General definitions.

(a) Director means the Director of the General Services Agency of the County of Orange, or his duly authorized representative.

(b) Parking facility means any parking lot or parking structure owned, operated, or leased by the County of Orange and operated under the authority of the Director of the General Services Agency.

Sec. 2-7-22. - Policy and enforcement.

(a) Vehicle parking at County parking facilities shall be permitted only in spaces designated for parking by appropriately marked lines, and pursuant to posted signs permitting or prohibiting parking.

(b) No person shall park a motor vehicle in any marked space in such a manner as to occupy more than one (1) space.

(c) Any violation of this section shall be an infraction punishable by civil fine in an amount approved by the Board of Supervisors in the Orange County Uniform Traffic Bail Schedule; and any peace officer or any regularly employed and salaried employee whose duties include directing traffic and/or enforcing parking laws and regulations of the County of Orange, or deputized parking personnel of the County of Orange, may enforce such regulation by the issuance of warning notices, citations or tow-away orders, by arrest, or by any combination thereof to violators. Removal of vehicles from County parking facilities shall be accomplished in accordance with California Vehicle Code sections 22850 through 22856 inclusive.

Sec. 2-7-23. - Director to establish restricted parking areas.

The Director is hereby authorized and directed, in accordance with sections 21113 and 22519 of the California Vehicle Code, to install and maintain appropriate signs and markings at County parking facilities as deemed necessary to create parking stalls and areas designated for certain limited uses. These uses may include, but are not limited to, use for:

(a) Persons with disabilities;

(b) Official, police, service, or delivery vehicles;

(c) Fire access lanes;

(d) Vehicle inspection areas and loading zones;

(e) Employee parking;

(f) Rideshare parking.
