The city treasurer is authorized and directed to collect, from the makers thereof, all expenses incurred by the city in collecting on checks, drafts and other bank instruments which are returned to the city as drawee, having been dishonored by the maker's bank.

The city treasurer may establish minimum collection fees, based on actual cost of collection, and post the same for public information.

4.40.030 - Liability for collection costs—Sign required.

The city treasurer shall, from time to time, post for public view a sign announcing the liability of the makers of subject instruments for the cost of collecting thereof.
