13.24.060 Unsafe aircraft.

It is unlawful for any person to land, take off in or taxi any aircraft at the airport which he knows is not operating properly, or which is equipped with any part or safety device which is defective or unsafe. (Ord. 177-82 § 16, 1982)

13.24.070 Alcohol and drugs.

It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of intoxicating liquor, or under the combined influence of intoxicating liquor and any drug, or under the influence of any narcotic or other drug, to do any act in connection with the operation or maintenance of any aircraft. (Ord. 177-82 § 17, 1982)

13.24.080 Engine starting and operation.

It is unlawful for any person to start or operate any aircraft engine:

  • A. Unless a competent operator is attending the controls of such aircraft;

  • B. If such aircraft is within fifty feet of any hangar or building;

C. When the aircraft is in a position such that the propeller slipstream will damage or interfere with the operation of other· aircraft, hangars, shops or other buildings, or injury to personnel, passengers or spectators. (Ord. 177-82 § 18, 1982)

13.24.090 Takeoff and landing clearance.

It is unlawful for any person to land or take off in any aircraft on the airport:

  • A. Without observing the direction indicated by the wind tee and complying with that visual indicator;

  • B. Whenever the airport has been closed to air traffic and such closure has been designed by the placement of an “X” at each end of the runway. (Ord. 177-82 § 19, 1982)

13.24.100 Aerobatics.

It is unlawful for any person flying any aircraft to perform any stunt maneuver or any maneuver not necessary to a takeoff, landing, normal tum or level flight of the aircraft within, over or within one mile of the exterior boundaries of the airport. (Ord. 177-82 § 20, 1982)

13.24.110 Taxiing in hangar.

It is unlawful for any person to taxi any aircraft into, out of or within any hangar. (Ord. 177-82 § 21, 1982)

13.24.120 Taxiing speed.

It is unlawful for any person to taxi any aircraft at a ground speed in excess of fifteen miles per hour. (Ord. 177-82 § 22, 1982)

13.24.130 Control of aircraft.

It is unlawful for any person to move any aircraft under its own power unless he is in full control of such aircraft, and has assured himself that there is no danger of collision with other aircraft, vehicles, buildings or other obstacles. (Ord. 177-82 § 23, 1982)

13.24.140 Recklessness.

It is unlawful for any person to operate any aircraft in wilful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property, whether his own or that of others. (Ord. 177-82 § 24, 1982)

13.24.150 Parking of unattended aircraft.

No unattended aircraft shall be parked within sixty feet of the taxiway at the airport. (Ord. 177-82 § 25, 1982)

13.24.160 Low-altitude traffic pattern.

A. All aircraft in flight below an altitude of one thousand five hundred feet above the altitude of the surface of the runway of the airport shall comply with the traffic pattern, which shall be a standard left-hand pattern for runways 32/5 and a standard right-hand pattern for runways 14/23.

B. The traffic pattern altitude shall be eight hundred feet above the altitude of the surface of the runway for the airport. (Ord. 177-82 § 26, 1982)
