Montague Municipal Code Art. I General Provisions

The ordinance codified in this chapter shall be known and may be referred to in all proceedings as the “MontagueYreka Airport-Rohrer Field Ordinance.” (Ord. 177-82 § 1, 1982)

This chapter is enacted to protect the health, safety and peace and to promote the welfare and convenience of the general public making use of the airport by providing regulations for the orderly flow of traffic of aircraft, motor vehicles and persons, and the orderly and safe conduct of business thereon. (Ord. 177-82 § 4, 1982)

When used in this chapter, “aircraft” means any airplane propelled by propeller, or any helicopter, any glider or any other vehicle capable of controlled and sustained flight through the air. (Ord. 177-82 § 2, 1982)

The city council may adopt further rules and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter for the proper regulation and control of the airport facility and aircraft and persons using it. (Ord. 177-82 § 27, 1982)

Any person, firm or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars. (Ord. 177-82 § 5, 1982)
