Chapter 2.44 — DELINQUENCY PREVENTION COMMISSION

2.44.010 - Establishment.

Pursuant to Section 535.5 of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state, a delinquency prevention commission is established in the county.

2.44.020 - Purpose.

The purpose of the commission is to coordinate on a countywide basis the work of those governmental and nongovernmental organizations engaged in activities designed to prevent juvenile delinquency, and the commission may cooperate with any such public or community committees, agencies or councils at their invitation.

2.44.030 - Members.

Those persons who now serve or who may hereafter be appointed to serve as members of the juvenile justice commission of Mono County shall be designated members of the delinquency prevention commission of Mono County.

2.44.040 - Executive secretary.

The county probation officer shall be the executive secretary of the delinquency prevention commission and the probation department shall provide necessary staff service to the commission. All other departments and agencies of the county may assist the delinquency prevention commission when such assistance is requested and the necessary staff or equipment can be made available. These services shall be without compensation.

2.44.050 - Expenditures.

The delinquency prevention commission is empowered to spend an amount not in excess of one thousand dollars in any fiscal year for administrative expenses to further the purposes and goals of the commission.
