2.28.010 - Department created.

There is created the department of public works of the county.

2.28.020 - Duties determination.

The function, powers and duties of the county department of public works shall be determined and established by the county board of supervisors by resolution, ordinance or minute order as such function, powers and duties are deemed necessary for the application and enforcement of precise plans and regulations for the benefit and orderly development of the county.

2.28.030 - Director—Office created.

As officer in charge of the department of public works, the position or office of director is created, and the title of the office shall be known and described as "director of public works."

2.28.035 - Director—Ex officio director of transportation.

There is in the county the office of county director of transportation, which office shall be held, ex officio, by the director of public works.

2.28.040 - Director—Appointment.

The office created by Section 2.28.030 shall be by appointment of the board of supervisors.

2.28.050 - Officers—Compensation.

Compensation for the officers mentioned in Section 2.28.030 shall be in an amount commensurate with the duties and responsibilities delegated by the board of supervisors.
