Sec. 6.60.410. - Definition and duties.

"Special inspector" shall mean a person employed by the applicant to inspect the work described in this division, who shall be present at the job site at all times during the installation of this work. He shall keep daily records of all work performed and shall submit these records to the department not later than the first day of every month, the completion of the work or at any time when requested by the department. These reports shall be approved by a qualified and licensed engineer prior to submittal to the department. The final approval of all work shall be by the department.

Sec. 6.60.420. - Appointment and removal.

All special inspectors shall be examined and approved by the department prior to the starting of any work and shall be subject to supervision by the department at all times. The department shall have the authority to have any such inspector removed from inspection duties and reserves the right to reject any or all inspection reports when in the opinion of the department good and sufficient cause exists for such action. The decision of the department shall be final. If such action becomes necessary, the applicant shall furnish, or submit, a replacement special inspector for approval by the department.

Sec. 6.60.430. - Department election to inspect.

In the absence of any approved special inspector from the job site, the department may elect that the work be inspected by personnel from the department and charge the applicant for such inspection work at the same rate as prescribed in section 6.60.250, for supervision.
