18.08.010 - Generally.

Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, all terms in this title which are defined in the Subdivision Map Act are used in this title as so defined, unless from the context hereof it clearly appears that a different meaning is intended.

18.08.020 - Complaint.

"Complaint" means the same as appeal except complaint may be filed by any interested person or by the city.

18.08.030 - Final map.

"Final map" means a subdivision map other than a parcel map, prepared in accordance with the provisions of this title and the Subdivision Map Act, which is designed to be placed on record in the office of the county recorder.

18.08.040 - Improvements.

"Improvements" includes but is not limited to streets, lights, traffic devices, storm drain, sewer, utility, or other facilities.

18.08.050 - Lot.

"Lot" means a parcel or portion of land separated from other parcels or portions by description as a final or parcel map or by metes and bounds for purpose of sale, lease, financing or separate use.

18.08.060 - Owner.

"Owner" means any person having sufficient proprietary interest in the real property sought to be divided to commence and maintain proceedings to divide the same under this title, and while used here in the masculine gender and singular number it means the feminine and neuter gender and plural number where required.

18.08.070 - Parcel map.

"Parcel map" means a subdivision map other than a final map prepared in accordance with the provisions of this title and the Subdivision Map Act, which is designed to be placed on record in the office of the county recorder.

18.08.080 - Person.

"Person" means person, firm, corporation, partnership, association, syndicate, trust or other legal entity.

18.08.090 - Shall.

"Shall" is mandatory. "May" is permissive.

18.08.100 - Subdivider.

"Subdivider" means a subdivider as defined in the Subdivision Map Act as it now exists or may hereinafter be amended.

18.08.110 - Subdivision.

"Subdivision" means a subdivision as defined in the Subdivision Map Act, as it now exists or may hereinafter be amended.

18.08.120 - Tentative map.

"Tentative map" means a map made for the purpose of showing the design of a proposed subdivision and the existing conditions in and around such subdivision. Such map need not be based upon an accurate or detailed field survey of the property but shall be of the form and contain the information required by this title.
