Sec. 20.344.005 - General Description of Extractive Use Types.

Extractive use types include the on-site production of mineral products by extractive methods. They also include certain uses accessory to the above, as specified in Chapter 20.456 (Accessory Use Regulations).

Sec. 20.344.010 - Mining and Processing.

The mining and processing use type refers to extraction of minerals, such as sand, gravel and rock, and including fixed on-site processing facilities such as stationary crushers, separators, kilns, and transfer stations; or similar fixed facilities. This use type excludes the development of oil and gas development which is accommodated in Sections 20.344.020, below.

Sec. 20.344.020 - Onshore Oil and Gas Development Facilities.

Facilities related to onshore extraction, processing and development of oil and gas including storage facilities, pipelines and essential on-site processing and refining facilities. Onshore facilities related to the development of offshore oil and gas, except for onshore pipelines for natural gas, are not authorized without a coastal plan amendment.
