Chapter 17.68 — CERTIFICATION

17.68.010 - Certification of a record of survey.¶
The county surveyor shall affix his certificate to a record of survey map pursuant to Section 8764.5 of the Business and Professions Code after examination and finding the record of survey in compliance with Section 8766 of said Code prior to recordation. The county clerk-recorder shall not affix his statement to a record of survey map pursuant to Section 8764.5 of the Business and Professions Code of the state until said county surveyor statement is affixed.

17.68.020 - Record of survey examination fee.¶
As authorized by Business and Professions Code Section 8766.5, the board of supervisors authorizes an increase to the one hundred dollar fee that may be charged by the county surveyor for examining a record of survey pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 8766, which fee for examination of a record of survey by the county surveyor shall be five hundred thirteen dollars and eighty-seven cents to cover two reviews, plus a rate of one hundred seventy-eight dollars and eighty-seven cents per hour for all time spent examining the record of survey that exceeds the two reviews covered by the base fee. The base fee shall be paid to the department of public works upon submission of the map for examination, and shall be paid in addition to all other fees and charges required by law. Any additional fee owed for additional review time shall be paid prior to the county surveyor's presentment of the endorsed record of survey to the county
recorder for filing. This section applies to all records of survey examined by the county surveyor whether or not the property identified in the record of survey is located within the unincorporated area.
The board of supervisors authorizes future adjustments to the record of survey examination fee to be approved by resolution, and such fee may exceed one hundred dollars but shall not exceed the cost of providing the examination services as demonstrated by the county surveyor. Such approved fee shall be listed on the county's public works department fee schedule, as may be modified from time to time.
