Los Angeles Municipal Code § 20.76 Activities for Which Fees Shall Be Charged

(a) In addition to and notwithstanding any charges that may otherwise be provided by law, the Office of Finance shall charge and collect the following fees:

1. For conducting any business records search for the purpose of providing or verifying any non- confidential information,
including but not limited to the name, address, ownership, classification, application or registration of any business or person, the
charge shall be $3.00 for each search, provided, however, nothing contained in this subsection shall be construed as requiring the
payment of this fee as a prerequisite to the right of an individual to inspect a public record pursuant to the California Public Records
Act.

Sec. 20.76.1. Fees for Furnishing Text of Municipal Code Provisions Governing City Taxes.

A service fee of $8.00 shall be charged for furnishing the complete text, in booklet form, of Municipal Code provisions governing City taxes and the Office’s rulings pertaining to their enforcement and collection.

Sec. 20.76.2. Exceptions.

Neither the State nor any County, municipality, district or other political subdivision or any of their departments, nor any governmental agency nor any public officer, board or body acting in its official capacity shall be required to pay the fees prescribed above.
