2.57.010 - Created.¶
There is created a Commission to be known and designated as the Advisory Commission on Aging.

2.57.020 - Members.¶
The Advisory Commission on Aging shall consist of nine (9) members. Members shall be selected from the older adult segment of the City's residents and shall be at least fifty (50) years of age. No paid representative of any public or private older adult service organization shall serve as a member of this Commission.

2.57.030 - Duties.¶
The duties of the Commission shall be as follows:
A. To act in an advisory capacity to any City department or City Council Committee concerned with problems on all matters pertaining to older adults and their needs;
B. To assemble information on problems and their solutions for older adults through all available means including public hearings;
C. To be empowered on its own initiative to make recommendations to older adult service agencies on matters within its purview;
D. To act to facilitate coordination between existing and proposed programs for older adults;
E. To carry out such studies as may be assigned to it by the City Council;
F. To from time to time report to the Mayor and City Council its findings.
Nothing herein contained shall be construed as investing the Commission, or any member thereof, with supervisory powers over the actions or duties of the City employees or the operations of City departments.
